Footprints, Taiwan 2013

Date: 07/21/2013 (12th day in Taiwan)    Time: Early (believe me)
Place: A small park in the City of Tainan 台南市五妃廟
This is “Delonix Regia”, also known as “Flame Tree”, can be found in
Florida Keys.  In Taiwan (also Vietnam) it is called “Phoenix Tree 鳳凰樹” .

“Phoenix Flower 鳳凰花” is the city flower of Tainan.
Don't they look like flame?

Common house sparrows - mother and juvenile.
Water lily.

It’s blessed that I found a small coffee shop, no fancy stuff, but the young man
knows how to brew excellent coffee.  He made my good morning great ; )

Tainan Railroad Station, the gateway to the City.
The building itself is already certified as historical landmark.
Travel in Taiwan by train is my favorite, as I can see the agriculture
sights along the line.  This building could be a tool shack, on the top
may very possibly be
the pigeon house.  Pigeon competition is a
multi-million dollar business in Taiwan.  People are crazy about it!
See the reason why I love travelling by train in Taiwan?
Getting closer to my destination of the day: Miao-Li 苗栗
This is a beautiful bridge, but I forgot her name.

I remember this: the Bridge crossing Ming-teh Reservoir, miao-li.

Sharp-shinned Hawk near Ontario Airport, Ontario, CA Date: 08/28/2013

Date: 08/28/2013   Time: Around 2:00 pm   Location: Ontario Airport, Ontario, CA
I first heard the high pitched series of "kir...", and pretty sure there is a hawk near by!
I was right. The hansome Sharp-shinned Hawk was sitting on a big tree.
Looks like he did not like me, and didn't trust me either!
But I got what I wished for...

 Took-off, he went!
I went back to Ontario Airport (intersetion of Mission & Grove) around 6:00 pm for An-124 the cargo aircraft.  He was high up there!

Color of the setting sun made the bird more glamorous!
Earlier I was very close to the desert, it was 103 F.
The awesome bird made my day.  It's a cool day now.  Praise our Lord!

Pics by Jeffrey Liu - Antonov An-124 on 08/28/2013 Ontario Airport, CA

This was a big Surprise.  I first thought it was Boeing 747, but the dropping wings
changed my presumption.  Result after checking Registration RA-82042:
it's Antonov An-124, Cargo aircraft under Volga-Dnepr Airlines.  What a discovery!

There is another one next to the tower!
